Tracks on the surface of enough
Images from an interactive, durational performance in Preston Bradley Hall, formerly the circulating room of the Chicago Public Library, in the Chicago Cultural Center, created specifically for Site Unseen. Two writing stations were set up in the hall with handmade abaca paper slips and audience members were invited to write stories of journeys they had taken. The performer, in a gown that matched the sparkling glass mosaic and marble walls and a 14-foot train made of handmade abaca paper and wire, roamed the room, reading stories and translating them into accumulating sound motifs. November 2004. Performance duration: 3 hours.
