Seeing differently

We think those are our shadows (not that we are the fruit of the past)

When history writers center themselves (they can’t help their own nature)

how does it color our views? (can we frame the world any differently?)

What if we shift focus to the margins? (do you see what’s happening?)

the center holds because it doesn’t budge (stubbornly still here)

Eventually, purposely buried stories will bubble up and flood the land (we’ll be together again)

and what lies below becomes visible again (it wasn’t a shadow after all)
